The currency of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the Bosnia and Herzegovina Konvertibilna Marka, with one Marka equalling 100 Pfeninga. Notes come in denominations of KM200, 100, 50, 20, 10, 5 and 1 and 50 Pfenings, with coins coming in denominations of KM2 and 1, and 50, 20 and 10 Pfenings. Currency can only be exchanged at licensed bureaus, and should only be exchanged in Euros or US Dollars, as the Pound is of relatively little value in the country. Traveller’s cheques are not widely accepted and it can prove difficult to exchange them. There are a few ATMs in Sarajevo and Mostar, but not many – if any – elsewhere. Bosnia and Herzegovina is generally a cash-only nation, and other forms of payment can prove difficult to use. See: Visa: http://www.visa.com/atms/ MasterCard: http://www.mastercard.com/cardholderservices/atm/ The import and export of domestic currency is limited to KM200,000, whereas the import and export of foreign currency is unlimited.
